This is where bottles land when we need the shelf space. Around 60 of them at the moment, every one in stock, discounted between 10% and 75% off the original price. Some of it is seasonal packaging that stopped making sense in March. Some of it is aged bourbon we bought when the market was hotter than it is now. None of it is here because there's anything wrong with the whiskey. We ship to most states, with an adult 21 or older required to sign at delivery.

Why Good Bottles End Up on Clearance

Worth saying plainly, because clearance carries a stigma it usually doesn't deserve. Spirits don't spoil. An unopened bottle of bourbon is exactly the same in five years as it was the day it was filled, so a discount is never about the liquid going off.

What it's usually about is timing. Holiday gift packaging is unsellable by February. A brand changes its label and the old one has to move. And a lot of what's here is aged American whiskey bought at peak demand, when secondary prices were climbing and everything with an age statement was priced for it. That market cooled. The bourbon didn't.

What's Worth a Look

Aged bourbon and rye. The deepest cuts are here. Parker's Heritage 10 Year Rye and Old Charter Oak Finest Oak are both down by more than half, and the Calumet Farm 15 Year is a genuine age statement at a price that no longer reflects one.

Tennessee whiskey. Jack Daniel's 12 Year, the 10 Year, and George Dickel 17 Year Reserve are all limited releases from a category that rarely puts age statements on the label at all.

Independent and craft. Rare Character, Frank August and the Hardin's Creek warehouse series are the kind of bottles that get bought once and then forgotten about when the next release arrives.

Gift sets past their season. Holiday and occasion packaging clears out fastest and is the easiest value on the page, since you're paying for the bottle and getting the box for nothing.

How to Shop It

Two things worth knowing. First, quantities are what's left rather than what's reordered, so a bottle that's here today may not be next week and most of these won't be restocked at any price. Second, check the original price against what the bottle sells for elsewhere rather than against the strike-through. A 60% discount off an inflated 2022 price is a different thing from a 60% discount off current market.

If you're browsing for value more broadly, spirits under $50 is the everyday version of this page, and store picks covers single barrels we selected ourselves.

Clearance FAQ

Is clearance liquor lower quality?

No. Distilled spirits don't degrade in a sealed bottle. Clearance reflects packaging seasons, label changes, discontinued lines and overbought stock, not anything about what's inside.

How much are the discounts?

Between 10% and roughly 75% off the original price, depending on the bottle. The steepest cuts tend to be on aged American whiskey bought when that market was at its peak.

Will these bottles be restocked?

Mostly no. Clearance is remaining inventory rather than a reorder, so when a bottle sells through it usually leaves the site for good. Quantities on some items are down to a few bottles.

Does bourbon expire?

Unopened, no. Stored upright away from sunlight and heat, a sealed bottle keeps indefinitely. Once opened, it holds its character for a year or more while slowly oxidizing.

Can I use a discount code on clearance items?

Clearance pricing is already applied at the product level, so additional codes usually don't stack. Any current sitewide offer will show at checkout if it applies.

Can discounted liquor be shipped to my state?

We ship to most U.S. states, typically within a few business days. Someone 21 or older has to sign at delivery. Availability is confirmed at checkout, since a handful of states restrict direct spirits shipments.
