The Complete Weller Bourbon Lineup

Weller Bourbon Lineup

The Weller family brand is famously known for its wheated bourbons named after William Larue Weller. In 1849, instead of using the usual rye, he used wheat to make straight bourbon. Following the original blend of whiskey products, Buffalo Trace emerged and created a wheated bourbon.

Seven signature bourbons are produced by the Sazerac company, with its latest edition only released in 2020. Below, we'll dive into the complete Weller bourbon lineup

Average Cost: $899.99

The Weller Single Barrel addition came after Weller Full Proof and Weller Antique 107 and is one of the most recent additions to the Weller bourbon lineup. Weller Single Barrel bourbon was released in June 2020 and is 97 proof.

Weller Single Barrel has an initial price of around $50, but currently, you can find this addition in secondary markets priced over $800. As it continues, the bourbon builds up with dark chocolate and dark pepper notes, then gives a slow finish of mild tobacco and woody vanilla.

Average Cost: $699.99

In 2018, Weller CYPB joined the expanding Weller family and its varieties only two short years after establishing its interactive website. CYPB stands for Craft Your Perfect Bourbon, and the CYPB website allows dedicated bourbon fans to decide every detail of whiskey making. As a result, fans will be left with a high wheat percentage as a secondary grain instead of rye.

It’s well-known that CYPB is one of the best Weller bourbons because it can enhance the sweetness and the oak flavors associated with the Weller brand. Since this is a limited edition bourbon, you may be able to find it at select retailers for over $500.

3. Weller Full Proof

Average Cost: $299.99

One of the purest additions to the Weller Bourbon lineup is Weller Full Proof. The process for this bourbon is about using all of the woody flavors from the barrels to their purest form while still maintaining its 114 full proof. You may notice that its aroma resembles the Weller Antique 107, but it’s gentler and sweeter.

For the palate, you’ll immediately notice that this high-quality bourbon is filled with sweetness, with vanilla, candied caramel, and fruity notes. As a finish, you’ll notice a bit of heat and spice with layers of oaky notes since it has a higher proof.

Weller Full Proof can be enjoyed by ordering it on the rocks, in a cocktail, or neat.

4. Weller 12 Year

Among the Weller Bourbon lineup is Weller 12 Year, which you may even compare to Van Winkle 12 Year since it’s low-proof. Weller 12 Year became more challenging to find in 2016 because of the similarities between the two bourbons.

As you take the first sip, you’ll experience a buttery, soft texture with hints of vanilla, dark spices, dark chocolate, and dried fruits. Weller 12 Year is a 90-proof bourbon that smells of candied caramels, vanilla, and oak. It has an enjoyable, warm finish with heat that lingers.
