William Larue Weller's great-grandfather, Daniel Weller, made a lasting contribution to the distilling industry by teaching future generations of trailblazers the art and science of creating whiskey. Emmer wheat, a nearly extinct grain that formerly flourished in ancient Egypt but is rarely seen in modern stills, is included in the first product from the Daniel Weller brand. This whiskey offers an aromatic trip with a fresh, nutty nose reminiscent of orange zest, hazelnut, cinnamon, and caramel after being meticulously aged for almost 12 years and bottled at a robust 94 percent. It has a balanced blend of strong oak, sweet honey, and orchard fruits on the tongue.
