2019 Gold Medal winners at the NYISC, created by U.S. Army Green Berets who responded to America's call days after 9/11. Butterscotch, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, fruits, and a smidge of sweet oak are the flavoring notes. intended to be consumed neat or over ice. Molds created from steel that was salvaged from the World Trade Center after 9/11 are used to create each bottle of Horse Soldier.
John Koko and Scott Neil, both former Green Berets, established Horse Soldiers. Particularly Scott was a member of the initial group of 90 soldiers dispatched into Afghanistan after 9/11 to combat the Taliban and Al Qaeda; this is the same operation that was just made into a movie starring Chris Hemsworth called 12 Strong. Because the Green Berets and Mujahideen fighters overran the Taliban tanks on horses, they gave their brand the name Horse Soldiers.
