The Heaven Hill distillery in Kentucky spoils us with a very limited series every spring, highlighting the depth of the distillery by releasing some of their oldest stock. 110 barrels of maize whiskey made in October 2002 and matured for 20 years in old barrels on the third floor of one of the rickhouses on the distillery's campus in Louisville were made available in 2023 by the distillery.
This ultra-aged corn whiskey is a true tribute to their skill as it is a part of the Heritage Collection, which is exhibiting the commitment, perseverance, and beautiful ultra-aging procedures the distillery is known for. 80% corn, 12% malted rye, and 8% rye were used in the mashbill, and it was bottled non-chill filtered at 57.5% ABV.
