The inaugural limited release of WhistlePig's Farmstock line is the realization of their dream "farm-to-bottle" concept. Made entirely from estate-grown grain, the blend incorporates estate whiskey, 5- to 6-year ryes, and a 12-year whiskey. Ultra-classic yet beautifully composed aromas of toasty oak, sweet vanilla cream, and French caramel are streaked with a fresh mint quality. Similarly, the palate's luscious mouthfeel with notes of caramel, sweet spice, and fresh cinnamon are enlivened by fresh peach, apricot, and citrus rind; the finish is full of characteristic rye spice, dried fruits, mint chocolate, butterscotch, and smoked vanilla. A whiskey of this degree deserves to be enjoyed neat or on ice, and it can take a couple drops of water if you prefer.
