Each barrel is seasoned with a unique blend of old Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez wines that is unheard of in the business. In recognition of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England's visit to Canada in 1939, Crown Royal was created. Before arriving on the final, incredibly smooth blend of about 50 whiskies that was presented in a cut-glass decanter in a regal purple bag with gold stitching, 600 mixtures were tested.
The 1960s saw the American debut of Crown Royal, which has since surpassed all other Canadian whiskies in popularity. Every drop of Crown Royal is still made to the same exacting standards today.
